June 2020 – West Rand, Gauteng

Thero Services was appointed as a sub-consultant under Aurecon (Now Zutari) to provide Social and Stakeholder Engagement Services for the Far West Rand Dolomite Association project. The engagement involved facilitating negotiations between landowners of the Waterpan Community Forum and Far West Rand Dolomitic Water Associations (FWRDWA) regarding land encroachment and invasion.

The scope of work encompassed two phases. Phase One focused on Stakeholder Engagement, including an inception meeting with FWRDWA to grasp social issues, planning and conducting a Design to Innovate Workshop, and crafting a Waterpan Strategy Framework for Land Management. Phase Two entailed offering Strategic Guidance for Socio-Economic Development and Land Management, which involved supporting socio-economic development efforts, managing relationships with stakeholders, and conducting option assessments for land negotiations and development.

The project concluded successfully, meeting its deadlines and financial targets by June 30, 2020. Thero Services' performance throughout the project lifecycle, from execution to close-out, was timely and lauded as excellent.
