Thero Services emerged as a pivotal player in the post-fire reconstruction efforts at the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) following the devastating incident in April 2021. Tasked by the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (GDID), their mandate encompassed the critical realms of Building and Infrastructure Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) work. With an unwavering commitment to safeguarding the well-being of all involved, Thero Services meticulously orchestrated a comprehensive strategy to ensure stringent adherence to OHS standards while addressing the infrastructural needs of CMJAH.
Central to their endeavours was the refurbishment of the Radiation Oncology department, a delicate yet crucial facet of the hospital's operations. Thero Services executed a meticulous overhaul, meticulously aligning every aspect with the stringent provisions of the OHS Act and National Building Regulations. Their efforts culminated in the issuance of a Permission to Occupy, marking the successful completion of the project. Moreover, Thero Services navigated the bureaucratic landscape with finesse, securing essential permits including a Construction Work Permit, Demolition Permit, and City of Joburg Concessions, thereby facilitating the seamless progression of the reconstruction endeavour. Through their unwavering dedication and meticulous attention to detail, Thero Services not only restored CMJAH but also ensured its resilience in the face of future challenges.
