In the aftermath of the devastating fire that struck Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) in April 2021, Thero Services emerged as a beacon of expertise and reliability in conducting Building and Infrastructure Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety work amidst the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Operating under the auspices of First Rand's South African Pandemic Intervention and Relief Effort (SPIRE), Thero Services undertook the monumental task of ensuring Health and Safety compliance while orchestrating the refurbishment of CMJAH. Their comprehensive approach encompassed structural remediation at critical sections such as:
Block 4
Block 1 Level 6 Emergency Section
Block 1 South Tower Neonatal Section
Work was done in alignment with the rigorous standards set forth by the Occupational Health and Safety Act and National Building Regulations.
Despite the unprecedented circumstances presented by the pandemic, Thero Services navigated the complexities with precision and efficiency, culminating in the successful completion of the project and the issuance of a Permission to Occupy. Their adherence to stringent protocols, including the acquisition of permits such as the Construction Work Permit, Demolition Permit, and City of Joburg Concessions, underscores their unwavering commitment to regulatory compliance and safety standards.
