In the wake of the destructive fire that engulfed the Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) in April 2021, Thero Services emerged as a beacon of expertise and reliability, tasked with ensuring Building and Infrastructure Compliance and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) measures for the Gift of the Givers (GOTG). With precision and dedication, Thero Services embarked on a mission to safeguard the restoration efforts of CMJAH, prioritizing the well-being of workers and the structural integrity of the facility. Their comprehensive approach encompassed every facet of Health and Safety and Building Compliance, instilling confidence in the reconstruction process.
At the heart of Thero Services' endeavours lay the meticulous oversight of the New Storage Facility, a pivotal component of the post-fire recovery efforts. Here, they meticulously enforced the OHS Act and National Building Regulations, ensuring that the highest standards of safety and compliance were met. With unwavering attention to detail, Thero Services facilitated the successful completion of the project, culminating in the issuance of a Permission to Occupy. This achievement was further underscored by the acquisition of essential permits, including a Construction Work Permit, Demolition Permit, and City of Joburg Concessions, highlighting Thero Services' commitment to legality and regulatory adherence. The unveiling of the largest medical storage facility in South Africa in May 2023, orchestrated by the collaborative efforts of the Gift of the Givers, Health Minister, and Gauteng MEC for Health, stood as a testament to Thero Services' indispensable role in ensuring the safety and resilience of CMJAH's infrastructure.
