In the Gauteng Province, Thero Services assumed a vital role in guaranteeing Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance across nine hospitals under the directive of the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development (GDID). These hospitals, notably including the Sizwe Tropical Diseases Hospital, benefited from Thero Services' expertise. Thero Services meticulously assessed each hospital's infrastructure, drawing upon their comprehensive understanding of South African OHS legislation, international best practices, and specific Infrastructure Unit Support Systems (IUSS) standards. Their assessments aimed to identify areas of concern and implement necessary measures to bolster safety protocols throughout the hospitals' operations.

Thero Services' responsibilities extended beyond OHS compliance to encompass building and infrastructure compliance. They addressed crucial aspects such as adherence to building codes, structural integrity, and accessibility standards. Through close collaboration with the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development, Thero Services devised tailored solutions to rectify any infrastructural deficiencies uncovered during their assessments. This proactive approach not only ensured compliance with local and international building regulations but also enhanced the overall resilience and efficiency of hospital facilities, thereby improving their capacity to deliver quality healthcare services to the community. Additionally, Thero Services demonstrated a commitment to environmental sustainability by spearheading initiatives aimed at reducing the hospitals' ecological footprint. From optimizing waste management to implementing eco-friendly practices in food and energy management, Thero Services integrated sustainability principles into every aspect of their project. By aligning with the Gauteng Department of Health’s Priority List and leveraging their expertise in SHE functions and health facilities planning, Thero Services played a crucial role in advancing the sustainability agenda within the healthcare sector, setting a precedent for responsible infrastructure development and environmental management in the region.
