Thero Services has been tasked by Conco with providing Environmental services to ensure adherence to Environmental Authorisations and the Environmental Management Programme (EMPr). As the appointed Environmental Officer, Thero Services' primary objective is to safeguard the environment, ensuring strict compliance with Environmental Authorisations, which includes implementing ISO 14001 (2015) EMS standards. The scope of work, though delineated, encompasses various aspects such as the 132/33kV IPP Substation featuring two 80MVA Transformer bays, Operation, Maintenance and Services Buildings, and associated electrical equipment, alongside the 33kV reticulation network, inclusive of all cables and 33kV Overhead lines. It's worth noting that the design approval for the 33kV overhead lines will be overseen by an appointed electrical engineer, while Thero Services' responsibility concludes at the 33kV Cable terminations within the Switchgear of the Vesta Turbines. The comprehensive scope of the Vestas Turbines lies beyond Thero Services' area of responsibility.
Additionally, Thero Services is engaged in the Hidden Valley (Eskom) 132kV Substation project, including the 3.6 Komsberg-Hidden Valley 132kV Overhead Line. Compliance with ISO 14001 (2015) EMS standards, Construction Regulations 2014, and NEMA regulations is imperative throughout the project execution.
