2021

Thero Services embarked on a crucial mission to develop a comprehensive Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) Framework for the National Empowerment Fund (NEF). This framework was meticulously crafted to delineate the SHE requirements and strategies imperative for the establishment, construction, maintenance, and ongoing operations across various sectors, notably:

  • Energy

  • Manufacturing

  • Construction and Built Environment.

By identifying, assessing, and proposing mitigation measures for potential risks inherent in these activities, the framework aimed at fostering a culture of safety and health while safeguarding investments. Through a robust system encompassing monitoring, evaluation, reporting, and review mechanisms, the overarching goal was to mitigate incidents that could pose threats to the well-being of employees, stakeholders, and the overall investment landscape.

Prior to the formulation of the SHE Framework, Thero Services diligently conducted thorough inspections of facilities, encompassing every aspect from articles to substances, and from plants to machinery. This meticulous groundwork laid the foundation for a tailored approach that could address the specific needs and challenges within the NEF's operational domains. With a deep understanding of the intricacies involved, Thero Services embarked on the task of crafting a framework that not only met regulatory standards but also exceeded expectations in terms of safety, health, and environmental compliance.

Following the development of the SHE Framework, Thero Services continued to play a pivotal role in its implementation and enforcement. Among its notable engagements, Thero Services was commissioned to conduct assessments for Btimbiwa, a manufacturing plant in Mpumalanga, which stands as a significant investment by the NEF. Additionally, they undertook a rigorous food safety audit for Goseame Food Market in Polokwane, ensuring the practical application and efficacy of the framework in real-world scenarios. Through these endeavours, Thero Services demonstrated its unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety, health, and environmental sustainability, thereby fortifying the foundation for a resilient and thriving business ecosystem.
