Thero Services collaborated with Hatch Goba under the umbrella of the Development Bank of South Africa (DBSA) on various projects. One notable endeavour involved conducting environmental audits of waste facilities within the City of Ekurhuleni as part of comprehensive facility condition assessments. Thero Services assumed the role of Environmental Auditor for transfer stations, landfill sites, and recycling stations throughout the city. The scope of work encompassed reviewing waste management plans, permits, and approvals to ensure compliance with prevailing environmental legislation. Additionally, assessments were conducted on existing waste facility maps and diagrams, waste management training records, collection and storage systems, and the potential expansion of waste facilities.

Furthermore, site assessments were meticulously conducted, covering critical aspects such as contractor records, dust control measures, the size, condition, and design of waste facilities, available airspace (cell lifespan), wastewater management, and protocols for handling hazardous waste. These assessments formed a comprehensive overview, facilitating informed decision-making and strategic planning for efficient and environmentally sound waste management practices within the City of Ekurhuleni.
